When I was a young boy, I would wake up bright and early on Fridays to flip through the Entertainment section of my father's newspaper, poring over each page to discover the new films released that week. While my penchant for compulsive research has gone virtual in recent years, my passion for film has remained consistent.
My ultimate career goal is to tell stories that are both inherently political and undeniably truthful. I wish to use the form of cinema to analyze the real-world experiences of often-marginalized communities and identities. As an out and proud gay man, I understand the necessity of not just visibility, but honesty in that representation. It is utterly imperative that queer people, as well as people of color and women, are given the space to tell their own stories, producing art that is more interesting and dynamic in the process.
My primary medium of expression is film and script, but I also try to stay prolific in all forms of creative writing. Short stories, essays, even songs... I am constantly trying to write! I have a deep passion for acting and directing as well. In a perfect world, I would be honored to have the opportunity to handle all three responsibilities in crafting and creating original content for general audiences.
As I continue to follow my passion, I remain committed to my ultimate goal: becoming a storyteller worthy of a write-up in that Friday morning Entertainment section.
